Hunts Mesa Full Moon Overnight Photography Workshop

April 1–2, 2026

Photograph one of the most iconic viewpoints in the American Southwest under a full moon.

Join Jason Fazio of Jason Fazio Photography and Eric Weiland of Eric Weiland Photography for a rare overnight photography workshop on Hunts Mesa, located on Navajo Nation land and accessed with authorized Navajo Guides.

This experience is built around light, timing, and place. From sunset to moonrise, through a full moon night, and into sunrise, you will photograph Monument Valley from a vantage point few ever see.

The Experience

Hunts Mesa offers an elevated, sweeping view of Monument Valley’s iconic buttes and desert landscape. During this workshop, you will photograph:

  • Sunset light across Monument Valley

  • Blue hour and moonrise during the full moon

  • Moonlit desert scenes from the mesa

  • Sunrise light revealing layers, depth, and scale

Between shooting sessions, our Navajo Guides will prepare dinner on the mesa and provide coffee the following morning, allowing you to rest, review images, and prepare for sunrise.

This is an overnight experience designed to slow things down and immerse you in the landscape.

Guided by Experience

You will be guided by:

  • Jason Fazio, landscape photographer and educator based in Colorado

  • Eric Weiland, accomplished landscape photographer with extensive Southwest experience

In addition, authorized Navajo Guides will lead all travel on Tribal land and provide access to Hunts Mesa in a respectful and permitted manner.

This combination ensures a safe, legal, and deeply meaningful experience.
